Announcing AisleCore's Retailer Deduction Code Library

One of the most common requests we hear from CPG trade managers is for a consolidated reference of retailer deduction codes. Every brand goes through the same painful process of decoding cryptic remittance codes, building internal reference documents, and updating them as retailers change their systems. We decided to solve this problem once and share the result with everyone.

What We Have Compiled

The AisleCore Retailer Deduction Code Library covers deduction codes for seven major retailers:

What Each Guide Includes

Each retailer guide provides:

• Complete code listing with the retailer’s official code, description, and our plain-language explanation of what each code means in practice
• Category mapping that groups codes into standard categories (compliance, logistics, pricing, promotional, administrative) for cross-retailer comparison
• Dispute guidance including required documentation, typical dispute windows, submission processes, and expected resolution timelines
• Recovery recommendations based on which code types are most frequently disputed successfully and which are typically valid charges

How to Use the Library

The library is organized by retailer, with each guide accessible as a standalone reference. You can browse all available guides from our Resources page, or navigate directly to a specific retailer.

We recommend using the library in two ways:

1. As a daily reference when processing deductions. When you encounter an unfamiliar code, look it up in the guide to understand what it means and whether it is worth disputing.
2. As a training tool for new team members. The guides provide the institutional knowledge that typically takes months to accumulate through experience.

The library is free to use, does not require an AisleCore account, and will be updated as retailers modify their code systems.
